Information Technology

Technology education is a comprehensive, experience-based curriculum in which students learn about technology, its evolution, systems, techniques, utilization, and social and cultural significance.  It develops “technology literacy” by dealing with the ways in which ingenuity, processes, materials, devices, and mathematics are applied for solving problems to meet our needs and desires.

A central role of education is to offer a curriculum that provides students with basic understanding and skills needed to function effectively in society.  It is absolutely necessary for all people to understand technology. The emphasis in learning has changed from memorizing facts to learning how to acquire information.  Our changing technology demands that we provide the tools necessary for our students to be able to access this information.

Computer education is a toll which supports academic instruction and enhances critical thinking skills in a stimulation environment.  This education helps the student to achieve objectives of self-realization, social competence, economic efficiency and civic responsibilities.

In today’s high-tech society, all students should become technologically literate in order to become wise decision-makers.  Technology education teaches through experiences in a “hands-on”, cooperative environment using a systematic, creative thinking approach. This curriculum should be able to teach students to be knowledgeable in all aspect of educational technology and create awareness that learning computer technology is interesting and entertaining.
